Two of the UK’s leading PropTech companies have signed a newstrategic partnership to help agents master the tenant onboarding journey, which is under greater scrutiny following the Renters’ Rights Act.
By bringing referencing, compliance and insurance servicesfrom Goodlord together in Reapit, the partnership will give agents thevisibility they need through Reapit’s advanced reporting to evidence every stepof the end-to-end tenant journey and operate with confidence. This is crucialat a time when local authorities have been given new powers and £60m to enforcehousing law.
Under the new legislation, Goodlord’s robust pre-tenancy referencing andaffordability checks will be critical in helping agents place the right tenant,as court delays mean regaining possession from problem tenancies through aSection 8 eviction can take up to a year in some areas.
Built-in compliance checks through the partnership will also help jointcustomers complete documentation and licensing checks accurately. This helpsprotect landlords as mistakes can risk fines of up to £40,000 or a two-year rentrepayment order. Goodlord’s integrated insurance offerings can help mitigaterisks of property damage or non-payment, while reassuring landlords.
Building on a successful integration
The existing integration between the two platforms alreadymeans data is shared seamlessly, helping agents place the right tenants fasterand reassuring landlords that their property is managed compliantly.
The next evolution of the integration, which will bereleased in the coming months, will bring Goodlord’s key letting services:referencing, compliance, insurance and tenancy progression, directly intoReapit.
Agents will be able to easily movetenants through the onboarding process, from checking affordability and makingoffers, to reviewing documents and licensing requirements seamlessly throughthis enhanced integration.
Goodlord’s tenant referencing and fraud checks help reducerisk for landlords, while options such as rent protection and guarantorservices add extra peace of mind. Once agreed, tenancies can be completeddigitally, with contracts signed online and payments set up without the usualback‑and‑forth.
Crucially, the data is visible in Reapit, giving agents asingle, up-to-date picture of their lettings business. That means no moreswitching between platforms, less manual data entry for agents, bettervisibility for managers across their entire agency, and more confidence thatnothing has been missed.
A longer‑term partnership tosupport lettings
Both businesses said the partnership marks the start of acloser working relationship, with further improvements planned to strengthenthe integration and support agents as lettings continues to change.
Steve Richmond, Reapit’s GeneralManager in the UK and Ireland, said: “Our partnership with Goodlord will helpagents get pre-tenancy right the first time, every time. It means lessduplication, clearer oversight and more confidence for agents and their landlords. And this is only the beginning. We’ll be continuing to work closely withGoodlord to deliver even more value for agents over time as we build thegold-standard partnership for tenancy progression in the property industry.”
Tom Goodman, Managing Director at the Goodlord Group, said:“Our recent research shows that admin is the biggest frustration for agents, with 76% saying it slows them down and 63% saying compliance is holding theirbusiness back. With the Renters’ Rights Act increasing the pressure on accuracyand record keeping, that challenge is only growing.
“As Reapit’s new strategic partner for tenant referencingand tenancy progression, we are in a prime position to address agents’ biggestworries by bringing our services closer to Reapit. Thanks to our partnership, agents will be able to manage referencing, progression and protection with farless manual effort. Information flows into Reapit automatically, giving agentsa clear view of every tenancy without extra work. This is just the start: welook forward to building on this partnership and supporting agents through thechanges ahead.”
