Reapit supports the next generation of diverse tech talent

Reapit is pleased to announce that its recent partnership with The School of Code has led to the recruitment of the first Bootcamp graduate.

School of Code offers a free 16-week course focusing on the fundamentals of programming, learning how to work in a high-performance tech team, and training in industry best practices and standards. This Bootcamp aims to help graduates get a foothold in the tech industry.

Training is free to students and removing this barrier is a fundamental part of the solution to the lack of diversity of background of those wanting to embark on a career in technology. Funding is provided by the Department of Education and Employer partners.

Reapit’s relationship with the School of Code brings several benefits, serving not only as a recruitment channel for talented candidates, but more importantly fulfilling shared goals around bringing more diversity in all its forms and its benefits to the technology industry.

Sarah Dearden, UK Chief Product Officer, Reapit, said: “Reapit is proud to be one of the Partners of the School of Code. As a leading player in the property technology industry, we have an obligation to employ and nurture people who are starting out in their career in technology. We need to constantly replenish the skills of the workforce for our benefit and for the sake of the wider industry.”

Dearden added: “On a personal note, I am very proud to have launched this initiative at Reapit and sincerely look forward to further opportunities to meet and potentially hire many inspiring applicants such as Tan. It is wonderful to see more diversity in the tech industry.”

Dr Chris Meah, Founder & CEO of School of Code, commented “We’ve had great success in placing our bootcampers into a wide range of tech companies. With Reapit hiring one of our graduates, Tan, there is another great example of how we can build partnerships with businesses to help grow their teams with top tech talent, and help change people’s lives so they can have great tech careers.”

Meah added: “We’re always searching for employers who provide great places to work and environments for people to grow. That’s exactly why we’re excited about the partnership with Reapit. So far, we have seen over 500 individuals on our bootcamp, and working with companies like Reapit gives us the ability to continue to support more people into tech for free!”

Tan Matthews, School of Code graduate and now Junior Business Analyst at Reapit, reflected: “Joining the SoC was one of the best life decisions that I have made to date. The amount of information, skill, and relationships that I have developed is amazing. I have always had an interest in tech but without the SoC I would still be frustrated. With increasing confidence, I can embrace a career in the tech industry, and I am happy to be continuing my learning at Reapit.”
