Reapit Creates New Website For Manning Stainton - 8 July 2010

Reapit, a leading provider of sales and lettings software, is now able to offer a revolutionary add-on to the Reapit Property Sales software - ReapitWeb, which provides agents with a website that runs on live Reapit software data, with no uploads required.

As well as a highly flexible and powerful search mechanism, ReapitWeb offers a 'featured property' display, office directory and many other vendor and applicant utilities, including My Property Tracker, Property Alerts and a functional mobile website that works across any internet enabled smartphone.

The look of the websites that Reapit can create is governed by state-of-the-art CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) technology, which means that radical changes in appearance can be carried out immediately, without changing the underlying search mechanism. The behaviour of the website can be configured within the ReapitWeb content management software, so that changing information can be done simply and quickly.

Reapit has launched the new service, aimed at the top 50 UK estate agents and has already created a new website for Manning Stainton, the largest residential estate agents in Leeds and Wakefield with 14 strategically placed offices, handling around 2,000 property sales at any one time.

Manning Stainton was keen to launch a new website that was rich in features and functionality, integrated with other marketing material and impressive in both content and creativity for future users. After using Reapit Software for the past four years, Manning Stainton selected Reapit to redesign the website.

Reapit has completely overhauled the website, focusing on the search functionality, which dominates the new homepage. The dynamic search area includes automation of area completion for properties to both rent and buy and the search results can be expanded to show full property details or topline data. There is now also a dedicated new homes search and auctions search.

The new search results page contains a number of new features, including a mortgage calculator, links to social networking and advanced filtering to allow users to search for properties added last 24 hours, as well as selecting different property types.

Alongside the search functionality, there is also an Area Guide embedded onto Google Maps for the local area, which pulls together automated information for each area, such as schools, transport links and properties in the selected location. When clicking on the local school for example, contact information for that school is displayed along with class sizes, results in key stages 2 & 4 and aggregate scores for the last 4 years. The information has proved valuable amongst users, ensuring the home mover stays on the website and positioning the agent as a great source of local information.

For existing vendors, Reapit has created a Property Tracker that allows clients to log into the website to view the status of their sale and to track the sales progress along with conveyancing updates. Users can also register for property updates on the new Manning Stainton website.

Reapit has created an automated office directory, pulled directly from Manning Stainton's database to display staff members and images, to give a more personal feel to the website. Reapit has also created a news management section so that Manning Stainton can add up to date news stories, market commentary's and community events, which can easily be linked to blogs and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to drive more traffic to the main website.

Russell Manning, Managing Director of Manning Stainton, comments: "Our existing website was approximately 5 years old and we felt it was time to utilise the significant changes that have taken place, both in terms of IT generally and the potential of linking directly with our own internal database, so that we can use live data and provide more client-friendly applications.

"Reapit had decided to set up a web development division within their business which coincided with our decision to redesign our site and after initial briefing discussions, we felt confident that we would achieve our objectives working directly with them on many new innovative ideas.

"We were keen to include key features such as the search facility and flexibility, followed by quality of content, visual imagery and then, in particular, the development of our brand new vendor property tracker.

"Our strategy is to ensure that we have the very best off-line offering in estate agency services in our region, allied to the most up-to-date web offering to meet head on competition coming from either perspective.

"The bottom line is that I would happily recommend Reapit to other agents. They have been key in helping us translate our requirements into reality and in particular linking the site directly to our own database - our website runs live off Reapit data, so is continually updated and there are no third party uploading issues, which is a real relief. A job very well done from Reapit."

Reapit has also created a mobile version of the Manning Stainton website, so that iPhone and smartphone users can view the site in a mobile format.

Simon Whale, Director at Reapit, said: "We are delighted to have been chosen to redesign the Manning Stainton website and are very proud of the new site.

"We pride ourselves on our ability to integrate databases and utilise them to their full potential, which is bringing our clients very real benefits, as we have seen with Manning Stainton.

"Now really is the best time for agents to ensure that their website is up to standard, because as the market picks up, an agency website with great functionality, rich content and helpful features will ensure more quality leads and agencies don't want to be' pipped to the post' by a competitor because of a poor or outdated website.

"Manning Stainton's website is a great example of an agency using their online presence to really emphasise the great services on offer, as well as the wealth of properties available to prospective home movers and we look forward to seeing the continued success of the new site."

Marsh & Parsons - 23 June 2010

Since 1856, Marsh & Parsons has been part of the Central, West and South London property scene, with 14 offices situated in prime positions in London that give Marsh & Parsons an intimate and extensive knowledge of the area.

Marsh & Parsons is an independent and professional firm, committed to offering a first class service delivering unrivalled results, covering all aspects of residential property. The firm's aim is to establish individual relationships with its clients, through a business which is built on energy, agility, professionalism and knowledge. Marsh and Parsons prides itself on understanding the local areas around its offices better than any other agent and being at the heart of local communities.

Marsh & Parsons has been using Reapit software since 2000. Peter Rollings, Managing Director at Marsh & Parsons, comments: "We are thrilled to be using Reapit software as it can be easily adapted to suit individual branches and is designed for the day-to-day business of an estate agent.

"The Reapit user interface is easy and logical, as well as being stable and reliable, allowing data to be shared easily across different sections of the business.

"It is clear that Reapit software has been designed by estate agents for estate agents, as everything you need to run a successful business is available via the software and the training sessions for our staff have proved to be invaluable.

"In fact, we have won several major awards, most recently including The Estate Agency Marketing Team of the Year Award at The Negotiator Awards 2009, which we believe is a testament to the strengths of our team, coupled with the easy-to-use Reapit software, which allows all of our staff to get on with the job in hand, rather than being bogged down in the admin side of the business.

"From a marketing perspective, our team is able to create extremely high quality branded HTML emails which gives us an unparalleled ability to communicate our message consistently with our clients.

"Our website has been designed by another company, but we have the ability to feed it directly from RPS and the integration enables our instructions to be presented in exactly the way we require, allowing us to stand out from the crowd.

"We are delighted to be working with Reapit to make our software work harder for each of our offices and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other agents."

White & Sons and Reapit - 6 April 2010

As a long established partnership of estate agents and chartered surveyors, White & Sons are one of the leading firms in Surrey. With a history of almost 200 years, White & Sons has a long-standing reputation for providing the highest levels of service.

White & Sons is independent company established in 1817 by James White, an auctioneer and property agent.

White & Sons has professionals for virtually all property sectors, providing clients with the highest level of expertise and service whether they are buying, selling, renting or need advice on planning, management or agricultural property. The firm's partners are all qualified specialists in their respective fields and offer a range of expertise unequalled by any local firm in the area.

White & Sons have been using Reapit software since December 2009, having previously used a different software provider Vebra. Andrew Farrant, Senior Partner at White & Sons, explains: "We were customers of another software provider since the early 1990s, which was fine at the time, but as the business has moved on, the supplier didn't.

"We became increasingly frustrated with how outdated our software was and all of the politics that had developed between our supplier and major property portals, which was causing us issues.

"We recognised early on the importance of having a cutting-edge website as the online shop front to our business, but were disappointed that we didn't have cutting-edge software to match. Therefore we decided to invite several suppliers in to show us their software offering.

"Once we saw Reapit, it was no contest at all. Reapit offered us the best value for money in what we wanted - the usability for our negotiators and those on the 'front line' was second to none and the lack of politics made their software a real winner.

"We had Reapit installed just before Christmas 2009 and already our staff have all had two training sessions from Reapit, with an additional two sessions booked for 2010. Reapit's culture is deep routed in training their clients and we find this to be a really refreshing attitude and extremely impressive - a real differentiator from the other providers.

"In fact, we have been so impressed with Reapit that we are also now commissioning them to host and redesign our website to keep it fresh, which we believe is more important now than ever before given the current market. From their redesign, we will reshape our marketing materials which we believe we help to keep our firm in the front of our clients and potential clients' minds.

"As part of this, we are kicking off soon with much more database marketing campaigns, which was another key reason to move to using Reapit software. Reapit provided us with a brilliant data conversion from our previous software supplier with no problems, which will be a real gift when it comes to contacting our customers. We have even decided to employ a Communications Manager to handle the marketing and database management, which we believe will give us a cutting edge on a more professional level.

"Reapit allows us to focus on the individual customer rather than putting all of our customers in to one pot and as a multi-faceted company, this is a great opportunity for us.

"We also find the reporting functionality of Reapit impressive. I use a more simplistic reporting to look at daily, which shows me everything I need to know and is great for forecasting sales for the next week. I can then drill down in to the deeper level detail and I can look at individual negotiator performance, which is fantastic and I like to use this information to praise those members of staff that are performing exceptionally well, which is great for morale.

"Having said all of this, I wouldn't recommend Reapit software to any other agents - it gives me a real advantage over my competitors and I wouldn't want to lose that! Reapit is the best software for White & Sons and I hope my competitors don't cotton on!"

Hilbery Chaplin Celebrates Award Win - 14 March 2010

Reapit, a leading provider of sales and lettings software, is celebrating yet more Award wins for one of its clients - Hilbery Chaplin Estate Agents, who won the prestigious Cartus Cup at the 16th annual Home Sale Network Conference.

The Cartus Cup is awarded to the Home Sale Network member that is judged as the 'Estate Agent of the Year', based on their Network performance, participation and promotion, market share and referral performance.

Home Sale Network is a national network of specially selected estate agents. All members are independent businesses, hand-picked after thorough checks identify them as the best independent estate agent to represent Home Sale Network in their area. Home Sale Network is highly selective and membership is based on certain criteria being met such as quality of service, local knowledge and professionalism, resulting in membership approved on an invitation basis only.

The Home Sale Network Conference rewards those agents who are able to use the Network successfully to generate additional income via referral. Reapit functionality allows agents to easily set up 3rd party emails that can be automatically sent out to generate client referrals such as referring out of area buyers and potential vendors to other members of the network. This same functionality can also be used to maximise revenues by increasing the number of 3rd party referrals like mortgages, conveyancing and utilities.

Nicholas Chaplin, Group MD at Hilbery Chaplin, has been using Reapit software for 4 years, having previously used Matchmaker software. Nicholas explained: "We are absolutely delighted to have won the Cartus Cup and believe that using Reapit Software has enabled us to run a more efficient business, therefore helping us to win yet another property award.

"We chose to use their software after looking at all the other systems on offer and were impressed by Simon Whale's knowledge of what would suit us. Reapit's customer service has been excellent and whenever we have had a problem, it has been sorted out very quickly and efficiently. I do not get any complaints from staff about Reapit's customer service at all.

"I believe that Reapit's ease of use, convenient data matching, short property lists, branch sharing of information and good diary management make Reapit stand out from the other software providers as it does exactly what a good agent wants it to do, efficiently and productively.

"We use the applicant and property matching mainly, followed by the production of particulars and diary management most frequently, but Reapit has really helped to improve our business dramatically."

Hilbery Chaplin has been offering a full range of professional advice on all types of property since 1894, operating in Romford, Hornchurch, Laindon, Shenfield, Brentwood, and Ingatestone.

Simon Whale, Director at Reapit, said: "We are delighted that Hilbery Chaplin has won such a converted award and are thrilled that our software has gone some way to help improve the efficiency of their business, leading to their success as a company."

2009 Review - 28 January 2010

2009 saw a steady recovery with Reapit signing up a large number of new Agents. This has meant a steady recruitment policy and expanding our office network to 5 offices in the UK to cope with demand. Our first in Scotland opened in Edinburgh to provide our burgeoning client base north of the border a local support centre.

Dreweatt Neate merged with existing Reapit client Carter Jonas and RPS was installed into 11 offices across Southern England. A data conversion was undertaken from a bespoke application in-house.

Andrew Grant, a prominent member of the Homesale Network with 10 offices across Herefordshire and Worcestershire upgraded to RPS from the Vebra Estatecraft software taking advantage of a full data conversion.

Town and Country, also a leading player around Worcestershire and North Warwickshire, moved across from the Vebra Solex software requiring a conversion from Homeview of all live and archive data.

Taylors Property Services also upgraded from Vebra Solex, with their 6 offices making them one of Leicestershire's biggest independents. White and Sons are a long established four office network in Surrey, indeed with almost 200 years of history. RPS was chosen to replace their Vebra Estatecraft software.

Michael Jones and Company, a 4 office previous winner of the best Estate Agency in Sussex signed up to replace their Vebra Solex system.

Michael Graham is a long established agency with 9 offices covering five counties opted for RPS to help facilitate its expansion plans and the opening of its new offices. RPS again replaced the Vebra Solex software.

Sarah Mains, prominent in the North East and well respected within both Fine & Country and the Homesale Network installed RPS across their 5 offices, with the move from Vebra Solex taking place in December to finish a busy year!

As more International companies adopt the RPS software there have been enhancements in both multi-currency handling and multi-lingual capabilities. Take up of the software from such diverse locations as Russia, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East is really driving the software onto a global platform. Knight Frank rolled out our new .Net Internet version of RPS in Portugal over the course of the year.

The year also saw Reapit yet again step ahead of our competitors with some unique integration with the Portals, providing a number of time and money saving features with the ability to automatically increase comparable stock within RPS. This unrivalled integration also provided a vital prospecting tool, which has proved invaluable in the fight for valuations.

As 2009 drew to a close, Reapit's clients were at the top table at various awards ceremonies. Knight Frank were awarded the prestigious "world's best Estate Agency website" and Countrywide, Chesterton Humberts, Strutt and Parker, Wilkinson Grant, Dacre Son and Hartley, Marsh and Parsons and Hunters were all recognised in their respective fields. At the Homesale Network's annual awards the main prizes were won by Reapit clients; the Cartus cup was won by Hilbery Chaplin and Webbers won the Masters trophy.

Reapit Summer Update - 12 June 2009

Despite the recent problems facing the property market, the demand for quality agency software has not diminished. Reapit continues to attract new clients, recently installing their software into 9 office agent Andrew Grant, and another 5 agents with a total of 36 offices have signed up for an imminent installation.

To help support the 2000+ offices using the software, Reapit has opened offices in Edinburgh and Milton Keynes, adding to the existing ones in London, Birmingham and Leeds. Reapit has undertaken an additional comprehensive training program to ensure that our clients are using RPS to the maximum and are fully aware of the enhancements that are continually added.

A number of our competitors have fallen by the wayside, or been forced to release new products to address deficiencies in legacy systems – leaving loyal clients faced with considerable upgrade costs. Reapit, by comparison, includes all software updates in the standard licence charge.

Whilst new business is important, Reapit's primary focus has always been to provide the highest level of service to our existing clients. Malcolm Prescott, Managing Director of Webbers Estate Agents, commented:

"Communication & organisation is everything in our business, 15 offices spread over 3 counties presents a challenge and Reapit has definitely helped us be far more efficient.

"Diary management & structure, vendor contact, buyer call back dates are all fundamental to success and Reapit is a great tool to assist us here.

"97% of our customers would recommend us to friends and family and we are industry award winners for the past 2 years and part of that success is due to the Reapit software structure, Reapit also react quickly to any issues and provide excellent training support."

The industry is full of horror stories about software providers working so very hard on winning the business and then disappearing after install. Reapit has set a marker for customer loyalty, with clients able to feel confident that the support team are about building long term relationships with their RPS users. Michael Dukes, a partner at Greenslade Taylor Hunt, puts it best:

"Having researched the market carefully for software that needed to work well in a multi-branch situation, it became apparent that there were very few contenders of substance. The RPS system ultimately was chosen not only for its ease of use but for the robustness of its back-room team and on-going evolution which was clearly as important to them as to us. The market is littered with such promises and it is therefore refreshing to be able to say that words are reliably backed up with action."

A major selling point of Reapit has been its ability to reflect the way our clients want to work rather than vice versa. For many non-Reapit agents the inflexibility of their existing software is a daily fact of life. Annabel Clery of Strutt and Parker describes the benefits of the more flexible aspects of RPS:

“After burning our fingers on a bespoke database, Strutt & Parker migrated to Reapit with very little problem some three years ago.

"Subsequently we have found the database itself to be a powerful tool in its primary function of helping us manage our sales and applicants better; it also ensures that our teams are completely aware of what their network is doing across the region.

"Of equal importance, the RPS teams are reactive and responsive: issues are handled promptly and above all the support teams listen. It’s never ‘Computer says no’."

At no time in this industry has a system like RPS gained such a market share across all sizes of Estate Agents; and it is clear that Reapit is going to be the name on everyone’s lips for the foreseeable future.

Aberdein Considine install RPS in 17 offices - 5 December 2008

Reapit is pleased to announce the installation of the RPS software at Aberdein Considine and Co., following a data conversion from a legacy application.

With 17 offices in and around Aberdeen, they are one of Scotland's largest independent solicitors and estate agents, and will be using the newly released RPS 10 to manage both residential sales and lettings.

Mike Sinclair, a senior property partner, is delighted with the new Reapit software package.

'Concerns that a business with multiple branches would experience logistical difficulties when migrating from our previous provider simply did not materialise. The support provided from inception to installation has been first class and the training support given to our staff has been received well. The partners believe we have secured a software package that will help us be even more competitive in difficult times.'

RPS Version 10 Released - 15 November 2008

Reapit is pleased to announce the release of version 10 of the RPS software, which for the first time brings together the sales and lettings modules within the same application.

As a result of this release, the rush for training courses has been dramatic. Whilst our competitors have seen training as a way of making extra money, Reapit provides training at no extra cost for all members of staff at the majority of our clients. This ensures the highest levels of competency for staff members and is the best possible way of keeping our clients up to date with the raft of new functionality that we deliver.

One of the most well received enhancements that have been made recently is a unique tool that allows us to directly import leads from all the main portals into the Reapit software without having to re-key any data. A big benefit of this is to enable extensive reporting on the effectiveness of web marketing, both in terms of number of enquiries generated, but also which lead to sales. This sort of information is invaluable when the annual discussions with the portals come around.

We have continued to develop additional tools available to existing clients for free, including Floorplan, Video tour and Projector software. These useful marketing tools can be used for both client retention and acquisition and without the normal costs that force many Estate Agents to pick and choose.

We have also reviewed the Reporting tools available within the system, and now offer a suite of configurable options, including Viewing Books, Performance Graphs and Applicant and Vendor management tools, in additional to the existing core flexible Reporting functionality.

Half Year Review - 27 August 2008

With the downturn in the market it has been no surprise that many companies have chosen this year to replace their existing legacy systems. What may have been seen as a distraction and annoyance in previous years has been identified by many companies as a true barrier to weathering the storm. In two key areas, cost cutting and maximising all revenue streams, Reapit has again been shown to be the clear market leader for the UK’s major Estate Agents.

The attention to detail that our project managers pay to clients is vital in terms of avoiding duplication in the workplace and ensuring that all our users are making best use of the features that are most relevant to their businesses. With bespoke tools for important areas like Rural, New Homes, Commercial and Business Transfer Reapit is well placed to help companies rationalise the usual scenario of many disparate databases.

Reapit have continued to add high profile names to their client base with installations over the last few months at:

Data Conversions from Encore, Webdadi and CFP were undertaken to ensure that all historical data was also brought across.

Beercock Wiles and Wick using Reapit across 9 offices - 15 July 2008

Steven Beercock of Beercock Wiles and Wick said:

'As the largest independent in the area we had always been very keen to focus on our branch network as one of our key strengths. The problem had always been that the software we had in place just wasn't up to the job and trying to multi-list between branches was like pulling teeth, so to a large degree we felt held back by the system's limitations. Talking to many other colleagues it was clear we weren't alone.

'We thoroughly researched the market and had been leaning towards some of the ASP internet systems that were out there but we’d kept hearing horror stories regarding speed and reliability, so we were relieved to come across a solution that met all of our requirements.

'Reapit was first and foremost a tool for people to sell with, which is vital at any time but never more so in a tighter market. Whilst our competitors are just waiting for the phone to ring we’re able to be more far more pro active with an extremely powerful yet easy to use system for call management.

'Now not only are we able to effectively multi-list applicants and properties across the group but reporting either companywide or down to negotiator level is possible with the ability to export to Excel for more advanced statistical reporting. We were no longer constrained by our previous software providers choice of partners, there was a much more ‘can do’ attitude from Reapit and in particular our appointed project manager who really hand held us through the installation listening to our ideas for bespoking the software and then liaising with the development team. We did think it was extremely important to have a data conversion of our existing Vebra software so that we could hit the floor running as soon as we were installed. We were frankly amazed at the quality of this part of the project, we were able to make use of the information that had been so hard to access previously.

'After consultation with our project manager we were able to amend the sales progression screens, HIPs and financial services to provide a closer fit to the way we work. Its refreshing to have a system that is able to fit our requirements rather than the normal scenario with technology of having to create a workaround. All in all I would say that by installing Reapit we have empowered our team to do what they do best and sell.'

A Busy start to 2008 - 14 April 2008

As usual the start of a year has been an extremely busy time of year with a number of high profile independent agents making the move to Reapit.

With the housing market tightening, it is natural that the country’s top Estate Agents have taken the opportunity to look at what so many of their peers have been using to cope with the downturn, both in terms of cuttings costs and maximising referrals.

Agents making the switch are Beercock Wiles and Wick with 9 offices and the prominent independent estate agent in Hull and East Yorkshire. Rettie and Co are one of Scotland’s leading Property Agents, and the latest is Heywoods with 8 offices in Staffordshire and prominent members of the Homesale Network.

In total over 200 users have now been extensively trained and are now using Reapit, and with all of these companies taking advantage of the data conversions we undertake from Solex, Estatecraft, GMW and Encore they have been able to move easily from one system to another with no rekeying of data.

The Reapit client base is also growing through client acquisitions, most recently with Hamptons acquiring Allen Briegel's 5 London offices.

Chris Stops, Managing Director of Heywoods Estate Agents commented:

'Heywoods have over many years embraced technology to enhance our service and exposure.  Two years ago, we decided to seek a ‘step change’ in the way our Estate Agency business functioned, to this end we sought an expansive software package.  There were the normal names but we were looking for something that would really set us apart and didn’t just want another system that we knew we’d be making allowances for its limitations.

'It had become very clear that there was a package that was being used by a growing number of the country’s leading Estate Agents, so we thought we’d take a closer look at the Reapit software. We had been loyal to our previous provider, but felt the Reapit solution would provide us with the impetus that we required at this time.

'We really wanted to be able to make best use of the data that was locked within our current system and at the time it felt like we were going to all the trouble of inputting information but getting anything out was very difficult. Obviously with so many of our vendors being previous clients it made perfect sense to want to be able to communicate with them easily to ensure that we were their first port of call when they came to selling their home again.

'Obviously changing software is not done lightly not least of all because of the fear of any disruption and one major concern was how we were going to be able to input the data from our Vebra system into the new software, luckily our Reapit project manager was able to put our mind at ease on this point and highlighted the option of a full data conversion. So we were able to bring across all historical data as well as our current applicant and property lists. It was as if we’d been putting the information into Reapit from day one.

'The software’s only been operational a few weeks now but it’s clear it’s an extremely flexible package which helps reflect the way we want to do business and it is very easy to use. You can see that it’s been built with the end user in mind rather than being designed by some techie!'

Reapit opens Leeds office - 3 December 2007

Reapit is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Leeds. Manager Carl Nelson commented

'Reapit has an increasing number of important clients in the North of England and we felt that we could provide a better service to them with a local office. Deborah Stevenson will be providing a training facility for our local clients, and we are also building a second line support, hardware and account management team.

'We are delighted to have a permanent base here, and the new office will play a key role in Reapit's continued growth in this important region, enabling us to maintain our high standards of software and hardware services.'

Address and contact details can be found here.

Cumberland Estate Agents, the largest estate agency in Cumbria, introduced RPS in October 2007 into 11 offices

Nick Elgey BSc (Hons) FRICS, Managing Director of Cumberland Estate Agents, said

'As a Company we had been using MatchMaker for several years. The retirement of MatchMaker was one of a number of factors driving the introduction of a new system. Reapit Property Sales product provided the solution to allow the business to progress in the way we wanted.

'As expected we had some concerns with the process of switching to Reapit, not least the consistency of the data transferred and putting the system live before staff received training.

'Throughout this process the Reapit project team worked closely with us to ensure everything went smoothly and any issues which did arise were dealt with in an effectively and timely manner.

'Our data conversion was thoroughly tested before the system was put live in order to iron out any problems. The final data conversion process took place in mid October and within three days all 11 of our branches were live and using RPS and t he go live period itself went very smoothly indeed with no problems to speak of.

'The Reapit staff and trainers who visited all of the branches during the go live period provided excellent service to our staff enabling them to be confident using the system there and then in a live environment. Subsequent training sessions have followed this up and built upon it effectively.

'We see RPS as being a major asset to the company through providing staff with a greater ability to communicate effectively with our clients, improved efficiency and professionalism within our offices and increasing our ability to manage the business and identify staff training requirements.'

News from Reapit clients in Oxford and Belfast - 25 October 2007

Leading Oxford Estate Agent Breckon and Breckon had a very familiar story. They had used a couple of the popular Estate Agency systems of the day but had found themselves limited in two fairly key areas. Partner Keith Stacey said

'In the past multi-listing between branches had been a fairly torturous affair either involving clunky hourly updates that often failed or by having a real time link between the offices. The real time link was dependent on a very reliable network in place and, although often quoted, the 99.9% reliability of broadband seemed nothing of the sort. In effect we would have had to have taken on an IT manager or an expensive outsourced service with some network specialists.

'As we have grown and continue to expand into new areas the need for multi-listing both of applicants and properties has become more important and I’m glad to say that this is handled seamlessly within Reapit. Management information that traditionally took some time to prepare is now available at the touch of a button right down from a company level down to an office and negotiator view.

'So many times we’re told that technology is here to help us and yet seems to be a barrier to doing business. Certainly this seemed to be the case with some of the systems I’ve used in the past, but I’m delighted to say that Reapit is a tremendous asset to us and helps us excel in customer service to our clients.'

MCW Residential are one of the market leaders in the buoyant Belfast market and have found a major benefit by being at the forefront of technical innovation. Operations Director Richard Charles explains

'We have always felt that a major selling point of the firm has been our staff members' ability to communicate effectively with our clients. As such the investment in our telephone systems was an obvious area for us to concentrate on.The system which provides us with information on the busiest periods of the week enables us to ensure that we are able to resource effectively to ensure our clients get the highest level of service.

'It had always been on our wish list to tie this into our Residential Agency system but no one had been able to meet this requirement - that was until we implemented Reapit, who had a ‘Plug and Play’ TAPI interface into their software. Not only did this mean that we never had to dial another number, simply needing to click on the phone number within RPS to dial out to numbers.

It also had another important time saving feature, which was that calls are flagged within the system so we can see who’s on line and look at their contact record as soon as we answer the phone. This has enabled our staff to maintain the highest levels of professionalism when dealing with our clients queries, saving the need for all the normal questions like “what’s your address and phone number?” whilst waiting for the computer to find their record.

'The phone interface has also worked exceptionally well as a de-duplication check against applicants on the database. Previously an applicant may not have already realised they had already registered with one of the other branches and so we could have ended up with multiple records. There are of course cost saving implications from a mailing point of view but the main advantage was the we looked far more professional and were not sending repeat post for the same requirements.

'It was even possible to have this search automatically against our archived applicant database and I can’t begin to tell you how impressed some of our clients were that we remember them from 5 years ago!'

Francis Marshall, Director, said:

'I have been involved with 3 separate Estate Agency software packages installation and development for Bradleys over the last 8 years.

'Since installing Reapit to Bradleys our ability to manage our business has increased many fold and all our previous problems have disappeared as well as being able to offer a better service to our clients.

'I have found Reapit to be both reliable and accurate and our staff found it easy to use.

'All of this stems from the Reapit development team who listened to our requirements and then delivered exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. They made the installation process easy for us and trained our staff so we were fully operational with in a few days.

'The ongoing support has been outstanding and if I have asked for any development it has been provided quickly.

'I can honestly recommend Reapit as a company that are fantastic to deal with, their product works well, they are professional in their approach and above all they are very nice people to deal with.'

'Estate Agency computer systems have been part of my day to day life for nearly 25 of my 30 years in the business.

'Being a fairly IT progressive company, I approached Reapit with a tall order of requirements that would satisfy the Bradleys Group’s immediate needs, but also to see us well into the future. The RPS solution seemed to fit the bill well, as well as having the scope to adapt and improve to our exacting demands.

'I have been impressed from the outset with the professional and knowledgeable manner in which Reapit have conducted their business with us. At every stage they have sought to fully understand our business and apart from listening to our requests, which at times have been quite unique, they have been quick to provide alternative solutions for us to consider.

'In addition, their broad exposure to the industry and third party suppliers has ensured that we have been kept fully up to date with the latest technology and additional integrated services.

'Bradleys highly successful company website was completely redesigned with a fresh new look by the Reapit team and was re-launched in late 2006. Work continues on the design and content, while ensuring constant optimisation to retain the status of being in the top 50 most visited Estate Agents website in the UK.

Bidwells now using Reapit Software - 1 May 2006

Bidwells are the latest agent to successfully install the Reapit software. Partner Julian Carder said:

'Bidwells is the largest independent firm of Chartered Surveyors operating predominantly in East Anglia with 5 offices, plus our head office based in Cambridge. The Residential Department were previously using Matchmaker and were concerned over the ability of RPS to transfer all the data and go live without any prior training. When Reapit went live in February all the data was there and any minor hitches were dealt with quickly and efficiently.

'The proof in the pudding was that the system is far more logical to use and everyone got to grips with it very quickly. The trainers were fantastic for the follow up sessions and everyone has reported how much they prefer it to Matchmaker.

'Our Rural agency department have also taken on Reapit and it is linked with the main agency system so that data can be cross referenced. In the next few weeks our Land & Development team will have RPS rolled out. Effectively three previous independent systems have now been replaced by one which enables each department to cross reference.

'We would not hesitate to recommend the system - with the exception of our direct competitors!'

Belfast agent MCW Residential using Reapit software - 12 April 2006

Reapit is delighted to announce that MCW Residential are now using the Reapit software in their four Belfast offices. Richard Charles, Operations Director for MCW Residential said:

'MCW Residential is an independent agency with 4 branch offices in the Greater Belfast area. The Company had been using the MatchMaker product for a number of years and when it was announced that MatchMaker would be retired in the near future, the Directors began to look at a suitable replacement product. It became apparent in a relatively short space of time that the Reapit Property Sales product would address the current plus many of the new requirements of our agency and offer us a distinct edge in the marketplace.

'The data conversion process took place in mid March and within a few days the new software had been rolled out to all workstations. We were most impressed by the capability of the project team, there were many requests for particular bespoking of the system, reports and layouts and all of these were dealt with in a timely and professional fashion.

'The comprehensive ongoing staff training by the project team has ensured that all staff are comfortable with the system and are able to get minor issues resolved in conjunction with the Reapit helpdesk.

'As the Company is split over 4 locations, speed of access to the client server SQL database is an important factor. By use of localised servers to provide redundancy in event of a comms failure we are able to operate in a seamless fashion offering all offices live real-time access to all applicant and property details.

'MCW Residential would have no hesitation in recommending the Reapit Property Sales product and the project team to any other agency who are considering a system of this type.'

Two new Reapit software users - 2 February 2006

Reapit is pleased to announce that Dacre Son and Hartley are now using the Reapit estate agency software in their 20 office agency in the Yorkshire region. Head of Residential, Patrick McCutcheon said:

'Dacre Son & Hartley is a large Yorkshire based agency, with twenty offices within the county and has been established for over 185 years. Following Reapit's decision to retire the Matchmaker software, we were naturally concerned about switching to Reapit, but as we looked at the Reapit software in more detail it became clear that it resolved the majority of the issued we faced using Matchmaker, and a switch-over to this system would very certainly be a step forward.

'Following a successful data transfer exercise in December, the Reapit software has been well received by the staff across the firm, and is being used to an increasing depth throughout the branch network. Ongoing training has increased staff confidence in the new system, and acceptance by them has steadily grown as they become more aware of its extensive functions and ease of use.

'The Reapit system is running in client server mode, with all users having real time access to all company data. All data is also being synchronised in the background, so if there is a failure with the central server or broadband, all offices can continue working until the problems are resolved.

'With the on-going training and support provided by Reapit it is anticipated that the system will be used to an even greater extent and form an integral part of our every day sales process.'

Reapit software is also now live in Webbers. Established in 1924 in North Devon, Webbers now have 16 residential sales offices covering North Cornwall, North Devon and West Somerset. Tim Bennett, Business Development Director, commented:

'We have been delighted at the superb level of support and training that RPS have provided. The initial roll out was hassle free and everything that RPS said they would do they did, which was a very pleasant change!

'Requests for amendments have been met positively, with plenty of help tweaking the system to suit our needs. It has helped us with a cultural change in trying to move into paper free environment.

'We would have no hesitation in recommending both the system and the staff at RPS.'

Property portal news round-up - 22 December 2005

Two major portals have been bought by newspaper companies in the last two months. The first was Propertyfinder, bought in early November for £14.3m by News International who own The Times, Sunday Times and London Property News.

In a second deal, Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT) announced on 8th December the purchase of Primelocation for £48 million. DMGT also own Findaproperty following a £13.8m deal in November 2004.

The Primelocation deal looks like being a massive bonus to the shareholder agents, both from a financial point of view, and for the lifting of the exclusivity requirement. Whether the newspapers can make these portals pay is a more difficult question.

The steady flow of new entrants into the market has seen sites like OnOneMap attracting interest. This site 'crawls' other portals and presents the results on Google Maps. Other portals looking to get a foot in the door next year are PrimeMove, Look4aProperty and PropertyChart.

Rightmove is also expecting to float early next year. It looks like the dot-com frenzy is back.
